Me encanta this place!!!! This is our 2nd time visiting Brasada Ranch, and this is now definitely a once a year trip for my husband and I. It's super chill atmosphere, very beautiful property. There's just enough things for you do, but not so much to where u feel pulled to try and do so many things during ur stay. For that reason, we love this place as our end of the hectic summer stay. The suites our gorgeous and crazy comfortable. We haven't rented a cabin yet, but took a tour; and hoping to stay in one end of 2014. We'll definitely be back for 2014

This place goes above and beyond. In the ranch house I wanted my salad as something not on the menu no problem. The wait staff always smiles and I willing to step up. I wanted something from an old menus the asked the chef it was done. Amazing views. Best sunset dining in Central Oregon.

We loved our stay at Brasada! The cabin was immaculate and so cozy and well appointed. We had a beautiful view of Mt Hood and the Powell Butte surroundings. Although other cabins are quite close it still felt very private and we were not able to see or hear other guests while in the cabin. The covered parking was nice too especially in the snow. The casual restaurant was good but not great. Service was super slow, but we have come to expect that in slower resort communities; it's not city life and service standards are different. That being said, one meal we waited an hour for our food. The service staff and manager were MORE than accommodating and offered us discounts, freebies and kindness throughout. It's hard to complain when staff is that attentive and apparently they were having pizza oven issues; things happen! Dining in the "fine dining" restaurant was a huge disappointment. We paid for the four course dinner associated with the New Years Eve party at Brasada. I couldn't even eat some of it. The ingredients were over finessed; the meal had all the right components but the attention to detail was definitely not "fine dining". I couldn't even eat the foie gras, which is my favorite. Don't waste your money fine dining at Brasada. The kids attended the kids New Years Eve party at the clubhouse. They had a GREAT time and they seemed to have a lot of activities and entertainment. The kids (8 & 10) had a blast! Overall the experience was fabulous! We will definitely be back. The staff couldn't have been nicer and we would only change our dining experiences. Next time we'll cook more in our awesome cabin kitchen!

We were looking forward to a Birthday Brunch and celebration for my son at the beautiful Brasada Ranch. The setting was gorgeous, food ok, $15 mimosas were good! However service was mediocre and once we got the bill we were over charged and when I got our bank charge---- they had charged me $900.00!!!!!!!! For a $150 bill....... after a week of phone calls finally my banks fraud department had to reimburse me......

Wow. So disappointing. So incredibly beautiful and so incredibly expensive. The food was horrible. I ordered the lamb ragu and it was horrible: the tomatoes were canned and the pasta cold. The service at every single location on the ranch was sub-par. It's as though every employee assumes since each guest has no other choice but to either dine and drink on the ranch or drive 20/30 minutes to get any other option, that taste and service don't matter. The food was awful, the service tragic, at the pool I had to go to the bar to both place my initial order and (30 minutes after asking the pool-side server for my tab) close out my tab, because she forgot about me. The pool staff and wait staff in general, in their own words, is understaffed, with two servers manning the entire pool, so it's little wonder she forgot. The concierge was a joke. I asked for a new vanity mirror because the bulbs were burnt out, and they said "right away" and two days and a note to house keeping later, we left without a new mirror. We finally went into downtown Bend for fantastic food and drinks. Save yourself the money and stay closer to downtown. Brasada is a tragic waste of time and amazing views. Two stars for the venue and absolutely nothing more.

This review is for the massive disconnect between the great facilities and the sub par services. 1. Great facilities 2. Pool and pool staff awesome 3. Kids loved it. 4. Won't be back however for the following reasons - a. Spent the best part of the first day trying to get a decent mattress into my $400 per night cabin. Nothing like wasting a couple of hours of your holiday being told no, and so on and so forth until you get the GM on the horn, and he has to come up and change out your mattress b. Housekeeping is lousy. FIrst they never seem to remember to come to my cabin on the third day. I have to call to remind them? Finally, in a 10 day stay they can never get their act together to get us towels for our room. Really?? $400 per night and I "borrowing"towels from the pool. You get the idea. c. Everything is always booked out. This must be the last bastion of making a booking for everything. Cowboy dinner for the kids? Sorry booked out. Campfire dinner on Thursday night (we called Monday)? Sorry booked out. But can I recommend some restaurants in Bend, should you want to drive 50 miles for dinner? No thanks. d. Dinner at either of the two restaurants? See above. they are always booked out. e. The capper was walking into the restaurant dripping wet at 4:45 on Sunday afternoon and being told they were booked out. Jeff the Restaurant manager seems to delight in saying no, certainly he has no interest in turning a table. Likes to look at his book of reservations like this is the French Laundry. Which it isn't by the way. Although similar in price ($12 for a kids pizza on the kids menu?? Are you serious?) To cut a long story short, my kids and I ate dinner on the floor in front of the fire, while the restaurant remained completely empty for an hour. When you are making guests who are paying $400 plus per night eat on your carpet because they have not made a booking at your empty restaurant, you are failing on many levels. This is why I advise taking all your top dollars elsewhere. If you want to charge top dollar, you need to be a lot better than just having a nice pool.

Wow, wow, wow. While Brasada Ranch is about 30 minutes outside of Bend in a place some would describe as the middle of nowhere (Powell Butte, and I'm talking about locals who describe it this way) in our book, this is a fantastic spot to stay and pretty darned luxurious. The views looking down on the Three Sisters makes this place a little jewel. With a main Ranch House, family cabins and two restaurants on the property, along with a new gym with state of the art equipment. and a set of pools, one with a water slide, and some gigantic jacuzzi tubs, you will not want to leave. We stayed in a suite-like room in the main Ranch House that had its own large living room, wet bar and refrigerator stocked with water. The property is simple luxury. Its cowboy friendly sure (there was a little too much Nashville-centric music playing at their restaurants for our tastes) and the golf friendly vibe sometimes has its dark side (You know the guys with polo shirts and corporate macho attitude can be offputting at times. Although they don't realize it. We are more the quirky, frisbee golf types.) but besides these things, Brasada is darned spectacular and comfortable, especially for my husband and I who have spent about zero time in the high desert and would now qualify as major fans. In fact, after several days here we became hands-down fans of Bend and its family and food-friendly, adventure lifestyle and craft-beer loving culture. Brasda has recently undergone a ownership change and the new owners have dumped serious cash into the property. It shows. The Ranch House Restaurant, in the main house, serves a mean breakfast particularly the Brasada Hash with forest mushrooms & the buttery vegetable omelette with forest mushrooms, asparagus and gruyere. The more upscale (and pricey) restaurant Range, serves dinner, excellent wine by the glass, great bites, cocktails, desserts and boasts incredible views of the 3 Sisters. Even if you don't stay here, head over to Range for a sunset view and a round of their gourmet smores and drinks. Nom. We can also highly recommend the burger (perfect medium rare), the kale side and the pork belly lettuce wraps (seriously good.) Hotel service is friendly, with the front desk, although well-meaning, being the somewhat weak link.

2 stars for the horrible dining service and lackluster food. I am a man that will finish a cocktail no matter how gross. But the 2 cocktails we ordered were straight up aweful! One overly sweetened, one pure roses lime juice from a bottle with a drop of tequila and a jalepeño. I couldn't finish either. Heirloom tomato salad= plate f arugula and 3 tiny chunks of non heirloom tomato. Burger and flatbread were good. My breakfast skillet had uncooked potatoes in it. Service? Non existent. Too much to even write about. The cabin, hot tubs and grounds were all nice but I would never pay the full $300+ per night.

Beautiful property, nice and helpful costumer service. Gorgeous cabins that are well stocked. Amazing views from our porch and from the ranch house. The sunsets are too die for! I only wish we had more towels and house keeping every other day instead of every third day. The spa was beautiful and after spending a hAlf day there I felt rested and relaxed for the rest of my vacation! Thank you for a wonderful vacation, we will return one day for sure!

It was standing in line for homemade pie at the Lord's Acre community event in Powell Butte last Saturday on a cold November morning that led us to the warmth of Ranch House at Brasada Ranch for lunch. Bear with me. I'll get to the Ranch House. But first, Lord's Acre is an annual fundraising event in the ranch and farm centric community of Powell Butte that has been taking place since 1947. It includes homemade pie sales (by slice or whole) starting at 9:00 a.m. (pie in the morning...these are my kind of people) followed by a quilt and other crafts auction and an afternoon barbeque. bendbulletin.com/apps/pb… One of the claims to fame of the Lord's Acre event is that in 1959 then US Senator John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie made an appearance and bought a quilt. My hubby and I, however, bought only (yummy) pie to take home and then enjoyed ourselves for a couple of hours (in the cold) for our first time at this event looking at the crafts for sale. At which point we were hungry (and really cold) and thought we'd drive to nearby Ranch House at Brasada Ranch for a late breakfast. See. I told you I'd get to Ranch House; Brasada Ranch's casual dining restaurant that is sort of "Cowboy goes Uptown" for ambiance. We were eager to try Ranch House because we are fans of Brasada's fine dining restaurant, The Range. We were particularly looking forward to breakfast as Ranch House uses eggs from a local egg company that lets the hens roam in the open, eating grass and bugs - humane treatment also resulting in delicious eggs. Open seven days a week fro 7a to 11a for breakfast, we just missed the cut off for that meal when we arrived at Ranch House about 11:30. No worries ,though, because Ranch House is also open for lunch and dinner (using the same menu for both meals) from 11:00a to 9p daily. Like their upscale sibling, The Range, Ranch House operates with a creative menu and a scratch kitchen relying as much on possible on local and regional sustainably harvested products. So we expected lunch was bound to be delicious too. The Ranch House kitchen delivered on those expectations. We selected a bowl of the soup of the day (a wonderful lentil in generous serving) to share and followed up with a pizzette. The pizzette was on cracker thin crust and topped with prosciutto, dried figs, mascarpone and wild arugula. A perfect pizzette. The chef on duty, Joel, did a great job. The price was great too, food came in at $18 for the two items, and big mugs of steaming hot coffee from local Bend roaster 11R only added another $4 to the bill. brasada.com/dining/ranch… Service, as provided by Jessica, was friendly with just the right twist of down home casual for the setting. And the music on the sound system, country and western, fit the setting just right. (We say this even as we aren't fans of C&W - it was right on there.) Seating is at a choice of four standard height tables or four or five high perch bar height tables. The place has a full bar and there is additional seating in club chairs near a big stone fireplace or on banquette with tables and chairs facing the fire in that lounge area too. An outdoor covered deck has tables and chairs (and views) for warm weather months. As last item to cheer about, there is convenient and ample parking for such a small place, including accessible parking for folks who rely on that to be able to park and get out of their car. (As do I as a result of MS.) Given this is a good 30 minute drive from the population centers of Bend and Redmond, it is definitely a destination that one has to plan to go to. Based on our lunch time experience, we plan to go back for breakfast or dinner. Given we hear it is Brasada's plan is to close their fine dining restaurant, The Range, beginning in January for a couple of months, we hope the Chef who has been providing direction for both restaurants, Adrian Carpenter, has the time to up the focus even more for the Ranch House casual dining ranch style comfort food and expand the offerings there. Half hour drive or no, we'll plan to make ourselves increasingly at home at the Ranch House if he does.

This place is amazingly beautiful. Comfortable, well stocked, and very homey... not like most cabin/vacation home rentals. The restaurant was fabulous, as was the service everywhere. The outside fire pits were lots of fun for our group, and only made the place seem that much more special. We will certainly be back!

Loved my stay here each time. I've stayed in two different cabins, and on the top floor of the ranch house is the first room. The staff is always courteous, helpful and friendly. The food at the ranch house is very good, and they have a large selection of local brews and wines. The food is a little expensive, but with the closest decent restaurants being 10-15 miles away, it's a good option after a long day. The cabins have everything you could possibly need, even for a extended stay. I was here for a month and a half, and the fact that I had a full size fridge, grill, dishes, washer/dryer, etc. really made all the difference. The atmosphere of Brasada is pretty amazing as well, the stars at night are unbelievable, and the sunsets and sunrises are always gorgeous. They have regular events as well. I saw a couple bands play here, and played some night golf with glow in the dark balls. So much fun! The athletic center has tons of exercise equipment, as well as multiple pools and hot tubs. Not to mention, just about every cabin has its own personal hot tub. Highly recommend the Brasada, and would absolutely stay again!

My husband and I celebrated my 30th birthday with a 6 day stay at Brasada Ranch. We live in San Antonio, Texas and had never visited Oregon before. I am going to be honest, this trip was a shot in the dark. I found Brasada Ranch on Groupon, and with a leap of faith booked a week in November. Our gamble really paid off! Brasada Ranch was incredible. Powell Butte, OR is easily the most beautiful place we've ever visited. We stayed in a Ranch House suite, and had the most beautiful view from our balcony/windows. A bottle of Pinot Grigio was waiting for us, with a hand written note wishing me a Happy 30th Birthday! The best features in our suite: the gas fireplace that kept us nice and toasty in the cold weather, and the beautiful bathroom. I loved the barn door that opened up in the bathroom so I could take a bath and watch the sunset! The bathtub was really nice and deep too. The service at the hotel was excellent as well. It was unseasonably cold during our stay (woke up one morning and it was 2 degrees!). That didn't slow us down one bit. As hard as it was to leave our room, we wanted to make the most of our trip. We spent a lot of time in the Ranch House restaurant (just a short walk downstairs). We ate breakfast there every morning, and the food was 5 stars. Again, the service was awesome. We came to Powell Butte with a planned itinerary, and threw it out the window. Our waitress every morning, made suggestions and we followed them. We went to Deschutes Brewery and Smith Rock Park to name a few. We ate several dinners in Bend, about 30 miles away from Brasada Ranch, and each time we did, we regretted it. To be honest, the food was so much better at the Ranch House, we wish we ate every meal there. The beer was worth the drive though ;) and I definitely recommend Deschutes beer! A couple other things I loved about Brasada Ranch: a 2 hour trail ride we went on (our guide was awesome), and feeding their horses carrots every morning. I'm a big animal lover, and brought a big bag of carrots with me. I've been on many trail rides in Texas, but the trail ride on the ranch was the best , and most professional ride I've been on. Well worth every penny! BTW, it was about 14 degrees on our trail ride. But it was just the 3 of us (my husband, me and the guide) which made it so special. I will book two next trip, one ride just wasn't enough. We are already planning our next trip! We're planning a 5 yr anniversary trip in September of 2016. Next time we want to take advantage of swimming in their beautiful pool, hot tub, and golf. We also want to enjoy their camp fire!! September should be a better month for that. Some tips: fly into the Redmond airport if you're from out of state (we made the mistake of flying into and out of Portland), definitely rent a car, there is so much exploring/hiking to do within driving distance, stay in the Ranch House, and eat at their restaurant as much as you can! You won't regret it. We cannot wait to go back, and joke that when we win the lottery, we will buy a house on Brasada Ranch...they do have cabins for sale there;)

I was very pleasantly surprised. Only 3 hours from Portland. Nice for a weekend or weeklong vacation close to home. The weather is a bit drier and warmer than Portland (at least in Spring/summer/fall). The views are amazing. You're looking at the snow-capped mountains everywhere you go. They have 1-3 room cabins. I would rate on the more luxurious end. Washer, dryer, full kitchen, with all the needed utensils, pots/pans, etc. Some even have an outdoor hottub. Golf course is supposedly decent. They have an athletic club with indoor/outdoor pools. Toddler pool. Decent gym. Teenager hangout area with video games, ping pong, air hockey, foos ball, and a small rotating climbing wall. They have a few ponds stocked with large mouth bass, crappie, and bluegills. Equestrian riding center. Tons of biking and hiking in close vicinity. I only wish Bend was a bit closer. Other than that I would love to be back. Great family place. They had a small wedding there and it didn't seem crowded at all.

want an amazing venue to host your wedding? check out brasada. we were married here this past weekend and the entire three-day experience was amazing. i'll start by saying that i had been to the ranch on two work offsites in the past year. i knew about the amenities and amazing sunsets. what i didn't know was the quality and professionalism of those on the catering/banquet/group sales staff. Jen G., Jenn, and Debra made sure our wedding went off without a hitch and i have had so many of our guests tell us it was the BEST wedding they have ever been to. here are a few reasons why: 1. Accommodations: the cabins are spacious and classy. kept up. beautiful furniture, a full kitchen with utensils and such, stellar showers in every room. each room also has outdoor entry access. if you are staying in the Ranch House suites, they are big and comfy as well...plus you have a great mountain view! the Barn and the Range areas on the property offer stellar views and spaces for your event. perfectly sized, perfectly maintained. 2. Food: the food provided by the Brasada kitchen at both our reception and rehearsal dinner was so tasty. everyone loved it. food is super important at a wedding, and people remember if they had crappy meat or crappy veggies. all in all, we had SUCH delicious meals. 3. Activities: if you're planning on bringing a big group, brasada offers lots to do for all ages. horseback riding, bike riding, a basketball court, tennis courts, hikes, an awesome pool (with a waterslide!)...guarantee no one will be bored. 4. Staff: everyone here is so nice. there's no other way to say it. from the Ranch Hands who offer rides around the property to the bartender who worked our event...they are just nice people. they make you feel welcome and important. we couldn't have asked for a better staff to work our wedding day. (i even knocked over two glasses at our reception, shattering glass everywhere. within in instant, it was cleaned up without a complaint from the staff). there's so much more i could write, but this covers some of the big ones. while it's a significant investment to have your event here, i promise it is worth it. your day will be special and the good people at Brasada will do everything to accommodate you and your group.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary trip. I asked my friends for recommendation for a place to go and this one was mentioned several times. The place is pricey so I wasn't sure we would be able to come. But it ended up working out. We stayed in a one room cabin. It was absolutely amazing. I wanted to move in. We had a living room with leather couches, a dinning area, a large porch with a gas grill, a powder room, washer and dryer, large walk in shower, and soaking tub. Way swank. The only drawback to the one bedroom cabin was that it had bedrooms attached to it that other people could rent. While they couldn't get into the main area, I knew they could hear everything we were doing, I could hear when they opened drawers or took a shower. This would be a great place for a company retreat or a wedding. Also great for families that want to rent an entire cabin. They also have some suits that are not in a cabin but I didn't get to see those. Another drawback is the restaurant situation. During the slow season, they only have one real restaurant open. The menu changes and isn't posted online. We asked to the menu before deciding if we wanted dinner. The menu was very limited and too expensive for the options. I would come back for sure.

I would never come here to eat even if it is the only restaurant around there. Me and my husband drove up there for our anniversary and the place is beautiful the sunset was breathtaking. The first few moments there were great until we went to look for our cabin their not marked clearly. We were in room B but the rooms weren't marked so we had to check every room with our key hoping we don't disturb anyone. The evening got better when we went out to eat that was an experience. When we walked in we walked over to the bar because it was unclear were to go or sit. It was after we waited 10 min that some guy walked up to us and asked what's going on here? Not hello how can I help you or anything in that sort. We told him we were here for dinner he said the wait is 40 min and than left. We had two other ppl walk up to us and finally take our drink order. Yea, we paid ALOT ALOT for our dinner and the customer service was HORRIBLE and the food wasn't that great. For the amount of money we are spending there they can't even train their staff or get them decent uniforms. Yea next if there will be a next time we will drive out and go to Diego's to eat.

We made arrangements (months in advance) for an anniversary getaway, and had requested the Broken Top room on the upper floor of the main lodge. Upon our arrival, we were instead directed to a lower level room--much darker (no windows, only the slider) obstructed views, no ability to control the HVAC . . . and LOUD noises from the restaurant deck above. Whenever someone moved a table or chair, the noise reverberated right thru the deck and onto our small concrete patio. Forget sitting outside and enjoying a glass of wine. This went on from early morning until restaurant closing at 10:00 p.m. Front desk personnel offered no apology or explanation for this "snafu". We also made arrangements for a "Cowboy Tour"--a 2-hour horseback ride with the wrangler. My horse was stumbling badly almost from the very start. Finally, my wife & I insisted that the "wrangler" ( a young girl, part-time employee) examine the horse. Sure enough, there was a large stone embedded in his hoof . . . and the horse had only one shoe! Was this animal examined and prepared for such a ride? I felt terrible for the horse, and did not want to risk being thrown. So our ride was cut short . . . but we were still charged the full amount. No trotting or cantering . . .just a slow, stumbling pace. Would I recommend Brasada Ranch? Perhaps. But we dropped the better part of $1,000 in 48 hours . . . which is tough to justify when the room is disappointing and LOUD, and the wrangler gives you a hobbled horse.

We spent a weekend at Brasada in early November, and will return this winter, summer, spring, fall, whenever. If you're thinking of a getaway near Bend, this is your spot. Brasada has everything you want: Great food, luxury accomodations, great staff, activities for the whole family--all in one of the prettiest spots imaginable with spectacular views. We stayed in the Ranch House. Families and bigger groups will probably want to consider renting cabins there, as they offer more bedrooms. The Ranch House is more of an inn set up, but was perfect for a couple's getaway. The room was lovely with every luxury amenity including major views. We were steps away from a fire pit and an outdoor hot tub. The staff was warm and welcoming as could be. We were there in what might technically be considered "off season" but the staff felt very on. (As did the weather. Bend in November is a welcome getaway from the Portland area.) The food was sublime. The menu is the brainchild of the former executive chef from The Little Nell in Aspen (read: beyond world class). We ate at the Ranch House restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days running and didn't tire of it. The Ranch House was a really special place. It's a sort of gathering place for the community, and we met a number of local homeoweners. There's also a living room set up with fireplace and TV where we may or may not have spent much of one afternoon watching college football. (OK, we did. Go Irish.) Golfing was terrific and the golf staff very accomodative. And the spa onsite was marvelous. Overall, we felt simultaneously at home yet pampered. We've been to Pronghorn and other areas in and around Bend, but we'll come back to Brasada again and again. We'll be back, Brasada. We'll be back.
